How's the moving going?
Oh hey, didn't check the forum for a couple days. The moving went well in the end, we have moved the main stuff, though I still need to move some tools and material supplies, mainly steel and carving wood. Can't wait for the Spring to start cleaning and fixing the old forge here. Meanwhile, I found some old handtools while cleaning old junk from a basement workshop in the house, it surely comes from a woodshop in the old homestead, next to the forge. Once I start fixing the old building and the workshops in it, I plan to make a series of pictures to document the progress.
With the old barn, I've inherited a pile of wooden military boxes, used for artillery ammunition. There used to be an army range nearby and locals were buying the old boxes in bulk, to use both as cheap firewood, and as universal building material. There are many sheds and garages in the village built from these, even my new house has a small garage built that way. I'm just fooling around with one of the boxes to see what could I use them for. Unluckily they're a little bit too low to transport rifles effectively, they would have to be laid flat, which way only two could be fitted in. I was thinking of making a HIS & HERS boxes for my and my wife, each containing our go-to ballistic and tactical gear, as we have way too much of these things and when we're packing for a range trip, it takes us too long to find what we need. This way we would each have our kit ready and the extra gear could be stored separately.
