Just curious as to what type of device everyone listens to their podcasts on? I currently use an iPhone. We are thinking about changing cell providers and we would need to buy a new phone for me, my husband's is currently broken so that needs to be replaced regardless and I was thinking of going to a simpler (cheaper) phone and buying an MP3 player to listen to podcasts.

So, what device do you guys use to listen?

iPhone 5. Used to use an iPod touch with wifi, which made downloading easier for audiobooks and podcasts. I'm bad about syncing my devices with my computer regularly, so wifi-capable products are better for me.

I generally listen on a PC. I use VLC player so I don't have to save the episodes. I don't like when something downloads podcasts for me that I may or may not listen to.

Gen 7 Nano. Had a Gen 1 Nano until battery life was nil.

Likewise. I was using an iPod Shuffle, but it bricked on me last month so I popped for a new Nano. It's nice being able to arrange playlists of podcasts for a long road trip.

I used to use a sansa fuze to listen. But I now just use my phone, Moto G. BeyondPod is what I use to download. I like the multiple playback speeds. I can cram more in when I listen to podcasts at 1.5x speeds.

iPhone 5 cable synced daily to iTunes on my iMac.

The current version of iTunes is working well, but for most of the year it was making me tear my hair out. The podcast app works well enough on its own, without any input from iTunes, but I like to play some stuff on the computer and it's easier to review what's new with one glance at the list of podcasts on my screen, rather than scrolling through on the phone.

Android all the way.

Podcast Addict app

You can choose to auto-download or not or only on wifi or anytime

It is a rare podcast that is only available on iTunes (I've never seen one)

It also stores the podcasts by true name and not some scrambled fake filename so you can archive them offline

Over the years, I've switched from listening on my computer, to downloading it to a nano, to downloading it to a flash drive and listening on my truck radio during my commute.

I have been down loading to my PC using i-tunes and then manually coping files to my phone and listening via a headhone to AUX cable in the car. I never sit still at home and do not burn the Bandwith on the phone so I often miss out, becasue I did not think of it in advance.

Iphone 4s using the Apple built in Podcast app. I have the app set to download content only when I'm connected to wifi and never use cell to save data costs, but that means if I'm at home, it automatically downloads in the backgrounds so I don't have to remember to do anything. And then later when I go to listen, if there's an episode I don't want to listen to, it's easy to just "mark as played" and let the phone take care of deleting it later. I use the "Up Next" feature to build lists frequently so I don't have to fumble around while driving to manually start another podcast when the current one finishes.

I don't sync to Itunes. If there's an episode of any podcast (I listen to several) that I want to save, I download it manually to my PC via gPodder.

I just got the Iphone last Christmas when I updated the rest of my family to Iphone 5 and took my daughter's old 4s for me. That's the first smartphone I've ever owned (and I've been working on computers since the 70's). I have to admit once you turn to the darkside it's easy and convenient. Prior to getting this phone, I had a LG enV Touch media phone that I synced to the PC where I downloaded the podcasts via gPodder and just played them as MP3 files but it was more cumbersome to deal with.

I use an app called Beyond Pod and listen on my android. I have the premium version that costs a couple a bucks so I can listen at faster playback speed typically 1.5x's. Really cuts down on time spent, and allows me to be able to listen to several different podcasts a week.

On my PC at work using Stitcher or on my iPhone 6 using the Podcast app.

I very rarely sync podcasts unless I'm tethered to the computer and syncing that way, though.

But I love using Stitcher on my PC. That way I'm not using memory or data on my phone.

I just purchased a bluetooth speaker and it sounds so much better than my phone. Set it on night stand at home, on the seat in the car and my toolbox at work. Charge lasts all day so no problems there yet.

I have 100 gig IPod that I bought around 2005, it is still going pretty strong although the jack connection seems weak and I have to sometimes hold the point here the jack goes in, but alot of times I am listening in bed mostly these days. I have to sync with a windows laptop. I was just wondering if I got a Mac how hard would it be to swap the library. Every time I get a new laptop I have to try to get it set up with ITunes, passwords and all which is kind of a pain. I have a ton of Audio Books but have not purchased any more because I started feeling like I was heavily invested in all thee audio books being digital. The IPod is around 85% full, but alot of odd podcasts as well which I don't listen to all of them but I always have a big selection.
I don't always care if I don't listen to the latest episodes of podcasts until a week later. I sync up maybe 2 times a week these days

I download the podcasts to my computer and then transfer them to my iPod. When I had an hour commute I would use a cassette adapter in my SUV to listen to episodes. I've spent many days working in the yard and garden listening to podcasts.

Podkicker free on my android work phone. I can download all my podcasts at home or hotel and not get crap for using company data. Also can listen at work using my headphones or bluetooth since I drive allot and have to use the hands free anyway. It can take the stress out of a work day for sure.

I manually download podcasts to dropbox and can pull them up on my phone, tablet, or computer.
