Coe's Comfrey - order warning

I ordered from Coe's after Jacks show (ep 1371) and paid via PayPal. To date I have NOT received the plants, nor had any contact from Coe's.
I have emailed, no response and called the number on their website. After an automated message I get disconnected.
At this point I don't expect to see the product or a refund.

I've ordered from Coe's before.  Keep in mind he's basically a one-man-show.  Might be on vacation, could be something beyond his control like stuck in the hospital.  He's not the kind of person that would take your money and run.  He will probably stuff your box with extra goodies because of the delay, unless you left butthole messages.

Just be patient.

I do e commerace for a living, and if you send me 3 emails an hour apart in the middle of the night you go down the list for being answered. Especially if they keep saying why are you not answering me.

just asked for an update after a month of no contact, got no response, and unable to reach them by phone.
Patience is not a problem.

I dont remember how long my order took, but I knew he is just a one man operation

We ordered from him about a month ago and after no communication our package showed up one day filled with extra goodies.  He's a great resource, but we have to remember that plants are not like books or other items that can just be pulled off a shelf in a warehouse.  It takes time to prepare a live plant from the soil for shipping.  There are seasons and maturity to deal with.  He does a great job, but does need our understanding.

Got a voice mail message from Coe's. Stating still a few days before order goes out but as folks have said he is padding the order.
I did not expect there would be such a back log. My intent was to advise of an unusual (in MHO) delay. From their website, I had no idea how much of a "mom & pop" operation this was. That being the case, I am quite happy to wait for the order.

I ordered from him as well in 3rd week of July. Guess I gotta be patient too. So how long should patience wait? 1 Month?

My order took a few weeks, seems longer when I'm anxious to get it. Once the order arrives, I was [am] very happy with the quality. He's a small family operation that got a huge number of orders from Jack's podcast. Be patient and you'll enjoy the results.

I have waited months from other comfrey sellers.  Sometimes they get rushes of orders-Jack isn't Oprah but he will still overwhelm most suppliers if suggests a source or product.  Sometimes you just have to wait for the weather or the stock to grow.  Sometimes life happens and one man shows have to wait for the man to get out of the hospital.  It happens and we need to remember not every internet store is Amazon, which is a good thing.

Just an FYI, I placed an order on 5-3 and received my order at the end of July. Over the course of my 3 month wait, I called Coe twice and he told me both times that he should be getting to crowns (my order was 25 crowns) in a week.

I get that he is super busy and has too many orders and not enough time AND I really wanted my comfrey, but three months is a long time. My only hope is that Coe will continue to do this well and is able to either do this full time and/or hire on more staff.

That being said, I would still order from him in the future. Just my thoughts.

He (Coe) put extra cuttings in mine and a handwritten note thanking me. It's just a small cottage industry. You'll get your order, but he isn't amazon. Relax, have a home brew...

I paid for some cutting on 7/3 and haven't seen anything from him yet.  I only live about 80 miles from his place, so I can't imagine it's shipping.

Yes I realize the poor guy is over-whelmed and with the above posts, I dont feel better. I was hoping to get this in the ground and producing before winter but not if its gonna take 3 months before I see them.
Perhaps he should put some kinda notice on his website letting people know how long for orders to ship out?

Got the order Saturday, so a bit over 2 months. As others have said, he padded the order with cuttings and a couple of dvd's.
He left some voice mail, and my guess is, he is overwhelmed as a few folks have suggested.
Knowing that now, I would still buy from this southern gentleman again and not have a problem waiting.

Placed my order June 23, had been kind of concerned until I saw this thread a couple weeks ago. After that, I wasn't too worried. Got a call from him last night, said he would be sending out in a week or two and that it would include extra cuttings and some other goodies like dvd's . Seems like a very nice fellow and if everything comes through ok, I have no problem waiting and giving him my business again.

I ordered some comfrey from this guy. Haven't planted the comfrey yet but I was not so happy to recive full blown Nazi Propaganda with my order. Some people tLked about the DVDs he sends which were a little weird but fine. I dislike the gov more than most folks but I draw the line at the racest trash that he sent. The newspaper was calling for segregation and trumpeting the national socialist party. All I wanted was comfrey. I will not be ordering g from him again.

Interesting.  I haven't ordered from him in quite a while (several years) and I chucked the stuff he included without even looking.  Thanks for the update.  It is quite concerning.  There's certainly other sources available, including other folks who have ordered in the past.  Once the snow melts, I'll be happy to send folks some root stock.

Maybe he has changed what he is sending out, I did not see any nazi propaganda last year

I do not want to hijack the thread but I tripped across something similar last night.   I like to listen to a shortwave radio station from Nashville on 4840.   It is the Worldwide Christian Radio network.   I tune in at night sometimes to listen to Alex Jones, The Power Hour or some of the religious broadcasts they have over night.   It's a toss up between this and C2C AM.

To my surprise last night, the gentlemen from King Identity Ministry were spouting the same crap.   Very anti-Semitic, very white power....very much NOT my thing.   I turned it off.

I know it is not the same as getting it w/ your comfrey order, but the point is similar.  This otherwise enjoyable radio station suckerpunched my ears with this crap last night.   I've never heard it on there before.   Could it be that the only way they get their message out is to subvert another avenue of communication?  Trick you into hearing their message?

So far, we just have this one report of racist material accompanying his shipments.

Sorry "this guy" is Coe's Cumfrey. The newspaper he sent was called "the first freedom". Published by a guy in Alabama named Olaf Childress. He clams not to be a white supremacist but a white separatist. the articles sure sound like white supremacy referring to blacks and Jews as "mud people". Another article says ayran people are as different from other races as a chicken and a wolf. It Was in the news a while back because  Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the Boston Bomer ,had a copy in his apartment.

Thanks for this info, Svdividedsky.  I took a look at "The First Freedom" website, and it's exactly as disgusting you describe.

We do take this sort of stuff very seriously.  I assume there's no chance the newspaper was sent by mistake?  Used as packing material?  (Yeah, I know, but I have to ask.)
