You can buy the regular canning jars at the Dollar Store then glue a cheapy candle stick holder onto the bottom yourself for about $1.50 a piece.

That appears to be a much better price for the set of four than assembingeven two from the parts offered by Lehman's. Good tip, thank you.

You can get the parts to make these at Lehman's. It will cost you a buck or two more, but the burners are better quality.

Anyone living in northern Indiana needs to visit Yoders in Shipshewana.  It is where the Amish shop.  They have tons of lamps, wicks, etc.  They have the Dietz lanterns that are popular with Amish and Mennonites.

Has anyone tried the Mason Jar lids with the solar inserts?  I am curious as to how well they work and how long the charge lasts.  I saw them on eBay.
