My everyday carry includes:

Keys- I keep them on a real carabiner (not the simulated ones) for keeping them together and the 'biner may come in handy. I think it'd make for a decent set of brass knuckles if needed.

Wallet- CCW, Drivers License, 1 credit card, some cash

Cell phone- HTC TYTN2. A cell, PDA, GPS, and digital camera all in one. The amazing things that it does all these things very well.

USB Drive- I keep some documents on it such as scanned birth cert, SSN, drivers license. I use a program called AxCrypt (http://www.axantum.com/AxCrypt/) to keep the documents safe should the drive be lost. I wear this on a neck lanyard with my work ID badge.

H&K USP Compact 45 in a paddle holster. 1 extra clip. Carried when and where I can, but not into my work. http://www.hk-usa.com/civilian_products/hk45c_general.asp

SOG Trident pocket knife. The only time I dont have this on me is in secure areas (airports, federal buildings, etc). I train in knife fighting and am comfortable with this item. http://sogknives.com/store/TF-3.html

Cold Steel "Sharkie" marker. I highly recommend this. http://www.coldsteel.com/pocketshark.html My jujutsu instructor got one as well and will be holding a training seminar with this item!!! It's so innocuous that it is an ideal "improvised" weapon.

2 "zip tie" cable ties. Big enough to secure someone. Also useful for a myriad of other things if needed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cable_tie

I have a Gerber multi-tool but rarely carry it. I have access to tools in the workplace, or a small tool kit in my car.

I'm looking for a good flashlight.

On the weekends I also carry another handgun along with the KelTec. Most of the time it's an XD45Compact, but every now and then I carry a S+W "airweight", or my old S+W model 19. It depends on what I'm up to and how I'm dressed.

Omigod, doncha just love the way that Model 19 shoots?!!? Every time I take someone to the range with me, they can shoot a Sig P226, Ruger LCP, S&W 642, M&P 9mm Compact and the Model 19, so I always ask.......so, what did you enjoy shooting the most? The 19 always wins, hands down. It's just a nail driver.

Looking through these posts, y'all make me ashamed I don't carry at least one, if not two, extra mags at all times with my M&P 9 Compact.

Yeah, I think I've had that old Mod19 longer than any other handgun. It's got the target grips, hammer, trigger, and adjustable sights...yadda yadda, but it's well worn. Alot of the finish is worn off. It's just a working gun.
It's a 4" 19-4. Also, had a real nice trigger job done on it back in the '80s.
She ain't no "prom queen", but it shoots fantastic.
Pitty that Smith stopped making the 19. I guess they thought they could do better??

I don't know if there are "holes" in your system...after all, you cannot prepare for everything.
Maybe you could upgrade your carabiner to a full size locking carabiner and extend its capabilities.

Hey man I like the mini FAK. Hard for me to tell what all you got there but looks like you go tall you need for light to medium severity bleeding wounds. I like that functionality. What is the form factor (size/weight) for this bag and how do you carry it?

it's pretty small and light.
Basically, as you can see on the picture, the main bag is just a little bit bigger than the QuikClot package.

I carry my EDC in a Maxpedition versipack.
I use to carry "pocket only", but then decided to melt my EDC with my GHB by using the versipack. This allows me to carry items such as water, gloves, flashlight, 550 cord, lighter and maps for example...

Smart move on the ziplock bags. I had a buddy go out and buy a $200 first aid kit for backpacking. It became a $5 kit after it got wet. "Disappointment", would be understating his feelings over it.

I had switched to using a shatterproof peanut butter jar for my backpacking first aid kit, and has worked well. I know for EDC that solution would be cumbersome, so I think the ziplocks are a simple, logical solution.

Yeah that sucks...
I try to waterproof as much as i can, especially first aid equipment...and ziplock bags are great for that.

As for backpacking, and since i do not like bladders for many reasons, i find the nalgene bottles to be my preferred method to transport water (along with Platypus bottles) and waterproof certain items in the same way you use the peanut butter jar.

*I have my CCW but the 1911 is not very friendly for this purpose so I am shopping options

In the truck -
Jumper cables
Rope
GPS (Garmin CX)
First aid kit (I made it myself using nutnfancys level 2 kit as a guide)
8x10 tarp (Camo)
gloves, beanie hat, socks
