Anyone have any experience with this Falcon Discone Antenna that Steven Harris is so high on?

All I know about dis-cones is they are about equal to a 1/4 wave ground plane. They're good up to a 10 octaves. So one cut for 90 Mhz would work up to 900 Mhz. This is about the size of the Harris Antenna.

Dis-cone antennas are only suitable as a broad band receive antennas though they will work for transmitting , the performance is not so good.
