Where In Colorado Are You?
« on: March 31, 2010, 05:33:38 PM »
I think we need a check-in Colorado thread.  I know there used to be something similar but what I wanted was a "Where in Colorado are you?" It seems difficult to plan any meet and greets since we seem so spread out so I thought maybe if we got some perspective of where we all are it might help.

I'll go first.  Hi TwoBluesMama checking in from Arvada, CO.

TBM, If we get enough interest, perhaps we could plan an informal picnic or something in an area fairly central to everyone...

Good grief we're spread out all over the place. :o :o :o

Thanks for checking in.

Anybody else from Colorado?  If you don't want to be specific about where you are just a general area is good.  We'd like to plan a get together if possible - Marie suggested a picnic near the mountains which would be nice - so anybody else from Colorado?

We just went under contract on a place near Longmont.  Fingers crossed all goes well on the closing; it's our dream spread we've been looking for over the last two years.  Close enough to commute, far enough to have a few acres to spread out on.

Arrgh, my house deal fell through (discovered horendous problems with the electrical and plumbing on inspection), so scratch Longmont for the moment, that was just wishful thinking.  Back in Lakewood for the time being, just looking north again...

Thanks TBM.  This is the fourth place we've tendered an offer on, so we've been here before.  This one just seemed like a sure thing.  In any case, looked at another short sale over the weekend.  10 acres, but the property has been unoccupied for several years and was extremely overgrown.  I should see it as the bargain it is, but somehow I just see my weekends disappearing into endless projects (fencing, land clearing, dealing with a horrendous goathead issue, putting in swales, planting trees, putting in raised beds, etc.).

I guess that's the downside of having a lot of land.  Heck, the horse arena has chest-high weeds, but I know two critters who could get that down to size in a few hours. :P

Centennial, close to I-25 and Orchard (since Centennial  covers a pretty large area). Would definitely like to meet some fellow TSPers.

Fingers crossed, just put in an offer on a home in the foothills near Morrison.

Fifth time's a charm, right?  This is our fifth property we've put in an offer on or been under contract on in the last six or seven months... this is getting ridiculous.  I'm so tired of banks complaining about not wanting to become real estate owners, then putting up rediculous walls to actually closing the deal.
