I live near Fairbanks Alaska, and it seems that only 9 people have claimed this state on this site. Most of other Alaskans on this board seem to be from the Anchorage area. Fairbanks seems like it would be a great place to be when SHTF.

Sorry brother, but too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter in your area! I'll stick with South-Central Northern Mat-Su.

You can keep your wind, humidity and your population density! We had 50% humidity with a very slight (less than 5 mph) breeze yesterday at 0 degrees and it felt colder than it normally does when it is 35 below.

Chafing under the regime of The Peoples Democratic Republic of Kalifornia. We are planning our escape even as I speak. Though Chico is a wonderful town in northern CA, the weirdness of the politics permeates nearly every aspect of our lives. Can't wait to move on. BTW anybody looking for a nice house to buy?
