Has anybody mentioned a compass yet. I was thinking of an inexpensive one thats metal and engrave the back of it with "The Survival podcast-Helping you find the way" and also engrave the members name on it. I found some on the internet for under a dollar each and a few bucks in engraving fees and it would still come out fairly cheap and be a cool of of a kind item.

I have a variation of that idea. I call it the "Anti-Che" T-shirt!
It's a red Shirt. Instead of a picture of CHe Guivera, with"Viva la Revolution".

It would have a picture of Jack Spirko, holding the trombone squash in each hand(from the YouTube video),And underneath the picture:"THE REVOLUTION IS YOU!"
And on the back of the shirt, you'd have www.thesurvivalpodcast.com !!!

What do you think??

How about some TSP branded flash drives. Don't need 64 Gigs, but around 1 Gig to put copies of documentation packets on.

Preloaded with all the podcast MP3s to date?

That ought to be in the general vicinity of 10 GB, so you could do 16 GB flash drives and that would still leave a lot of space for people's personal data, or they could unload the podcasts onto their computers and have the whole 16 GB.

Super idea! Ever since I seen the TV series Jericho, I've thought that something like a data stick with vital information would be a super addition to any Survivalist's stockpile or BOB. Oh, and 1+ Karma for you!

I was thinking more like blank ones that I could get about a dozen of for a reasonable price.Place them in BOBs, documentation packets, safety deposit box, safe,and keys, for both me and the beautiful bartsmom.

A dozen 16 gigs would be rather expensive, but a dozen 1gig should be reasonable. The novelty of them all being the same would help to id them as documentation files to me.

Update:

I've requested quotes on full color bandannas, and USB card drives (credit card sized - 2 GB). I'm working on a new t-shirt design now. I was messing around last night and drew this:

But I don't think that's what you guys were looking for. Maybe I'm just overworked, but I think it's funny.

This is the USB Card Drive logo I've come up with:

I'm waiting for a quote response now for the card drive. You need to know that these will NOT be price competitive with the crappy/cheap USB flash drives you'll get at Wal Mart. They'll be a bit more expensive, but they are waterproof, heat resistant, can be carried in a wallet like a credit card, and of course, they are awesome.

This is the FIRST of a series of bandanna logos we will be doing:

When I get the new shirt logo done (next new shirt will be for MSB members and will ONLY be available on the MSB website after you sign in), I'll post the logo for comments.

So, what are your thoughts about what I've done so far?

edit to above - I saw that I only included on "L" in "will" on part of the bandanna. That's been fixed on the actual logo file. Don't let it bug you too much. It won't be like that in the final product.

The red line is the fold line on a bandanna. It won't actually be a part of the bandanna. I just wanted to show you guys that the "The revolution is you" and the ant are centered on the forehead.

Great job, especially on the first two bandannas. Being kind of sissified with insects (except for my bees), I don't know if I could willingly put a giant ant on my head!

I am thinking of a shirt with a pattern similar to Escher’s work in symmetry using ants and done in colors that would resemble digital camo. Then on the front the TSP logo with Val in the center of the S. Under that “Helping you live a better life if times get tough, or even if they don’t” and the URL under that in smaller print.

This may be a little too ambitious, I don’t know. The ants would need to be pretty small for it to look like the mental picture I have and I’m not sure how you would get an allover print like that.

Maybe a matching bandana or shemagh.

That would be REALLY cool. I don't know that I can do all-over prints like that, but I will see if I can work on something that will at least convey what you're talking about.

Now this is a product I actually need. I've been using a microSD card to carry data, but it's fragile and I had to kludge up a holder which is thick and clunky to carry in a wallet.

Yeah, I know. Or I would have guessed.

The revolution stuff is helping us get away from the insects, which is good. We have an ant hat right now, and the t-shirts have an ant on the sleeve.

I haven't decided which bandannas to do, but I'm thinking that I might go with both the "text only" bandanna, and the ant one, so that people have a choice.

And of course, the emergency data card is ant free.

I suppose an ant free version of my previous suggestion could be done with little Vals but that would look more like the squares used in digi camo instead of the Escher look I was going for.

You shouild consider doing test runs of products via cafepress.com ... or if you have an odd-ball t-shirt idea that you don't think will sell well enough as an "in stock" product but maybe 50 people would buy it... you can sell it for free there.
