SanAntonio... are you talking the Tea party on the 15th???  Is there going to be one in SA, too?!?!  Last I heard it was going to be held in Austin, only. Things seem to be spreading out nicely!  When do we secede?

Fascinating thought, secession.... I was at a 3 day Nursing seminar last week... and several of the nurses at the table behind me were quite involved with talk of President Obama's Foreign visits and how they were not happy with the President's policies, the direction the nation was going under his management, the economic situation (in relation to friends and relatives... we nurses are somewhat recession-proof right now), the increase in reported violence (and yes, they did notice the "reported" increase and noted that there wasn't any significant increases in THEIR ER's) and the way etiquette was handled when the President and Mrs. Obama met with foreign heads of state (NOT at all happy there!!!! They spent the lunch hour bashing Michelle for not curtsying to the Queen and President Obama for bowing to the Saudi King). And several of these nurses brought up the idea that "Texas should really secede before we lose everything we already have (we ARE independent in most economic arenas) and became a pathetic, begging for handouts client state".  Nothing unusual, really, we all gripe and complain and nurses are really good at it... only thing I found worthy of comment was that these unhappy Texan nurses were black. Makes me wonder how deeo the discontent goes. Remember.... a lot of people are the "Quiet Majority"..... they complain to each other over coffee and at work but don't actually DO anything until someone or some event leads them. Sheeple aren't bad people... they are actually the salt of the earth.... but as their very name declares, they are NOT leaders, they are followers. And who are they following right now? Our Glorious Leader, of course!  And so they will, until something happens to scare them enough to break free of THAT leader... but then, in their panic, they will follow the first and loudest leader who comes along promising to "save" them or whipping them into line with threats of something horrible if they don't do as they are told. It's their nature. I wonder who's waiting in the wings to pick up the reins of "leadership" when President Obama drops them? A Military coup? Nancy Pelosi? Secession begins to look like an intelligent idea. It's been my thought that the USA is way too big geographically to function well, anyways.  We really need to split into smaller autonomic units. Become a NA union, of sorts. Still connected but not by a central government.  Let Texas lead the way... secede but remain friendly and economically connected with the "Mother" country. After all, CA still needs our electricity.

Howdy Folks,

Just made my first post over in the main intro thread, but wanted to stop in and say hello to all my fellow Texans. I am in McKinney. Moved here just over a year ago from South Padre Island, and really like North Texas. I'm part of a knifemaking family business and long time prepper.  Can't wait to meet some of ya'll in person.

Greetings, ya'all.  I'm just outside of Springtown, so howdy to neighbors Monkeyboyf and AFS2!

I'm in favor of secession - let's take our bat and ball, and use our own ballpark.  We're the 12th biggest economy in the world, why not!! This federal government has taken advantage of us for so long, that we need to change something (and QUICK).  The new American States Rights Movement looks like it's going to take hold, and secession is the next step after that.  Take a look at the thread http://thesurvivalpodcast.com/forum/index.php?topic=4827.msg45753#msg45753 (and watch the 1st video on this HCR50, on uTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTWKp_ucGLM&feature=related before watching the Part 2 video that Digger references.  That's some Burrocracy at work!!!

Hi DDrew

What direction just outside of Springtown?

I live north of Agnes, which is about 6 miles west of Springtown.  I'm in southern Wise County.

I just got back from the Denton Gun Show.  What a great day!!  I found some ammo that is so hard to find, along with some hardware that I was not expecting to find. It was truly a great show.  The Parker County Sportsman Club is also having a gun show in Pester, near Poolville, which is up 920 from Weatherford. I was going to go over there, but spent all my reserves in Denton. Such is life...

Well, Howdy Neighbor!!  It's really a small world isn't it.  Are you thinking about going to tha Region 5 Bug Out/Camp Out down in Goldthwaite, TX (http://thesurvivalpodcast.com/forum/index.php?topic=3329.0 has more info)?  It's about 130 miles from us. I'd be willing to carpool, or split the gas/fuel cost if your interested.  Sounds like a good time for Memorial Day Weekend.

Take care, and see ya around.

Dale

My lady and I are East Texas born and raised, and currently on an excursion to Manhattan.  Back to Texas by years end.  And not a moment to soon.  I can't express how much I worry about bug-outs up here.
