Reason to be careful with bird netting
« on: July 06, 2014, 10:03:08 PM »
On some of my garden spots I have bird netting to keep birds and critters away. This weekend I found not one but two rat snakes hooked up in one of the nets at different times. One of them was over 6 feet long and wasn't dead yet. Hated to kill it but there was no way I was getting it out of the netting and it already was injured a good bit. They must have been going after some frogs that hang out there. Will be using screen sections in the future for those small areas.

Sounds like you have a snake trap...now you just need a use for a captured snake!

the robins ate all my blueberries from my new bushes.   no reason now for me to net them, but next year i need to do this.

I'll rethink my strategy some.....snakes are yucky.

Maybe just throw them on the fire...free calories!
