Survival EDC
« on: May 13, 2010, 07:03:48 PM »
I did a search, but didn't find anything addressing what you guys EDC (every day carry) that has survival use. I'm not talking about BOB's or what is stored in a vehicle, just what you carry on your person at all times.

Here's what I carry and where:

LF: Wallet - cash, CC's, ID, a few bandaids
LF: Bic lighter
LR: bandanna
RF: Either a Gerber EAB (at work) or a Byrd Cara Cara (not at work)
Belt: Leatherman new Wave and in it's pouch - Leatherman bit kit, Fenix E01 flashlight, and space pen
Belt: Cell phone
Key ring: keys (obviously), Cash can with $20 rolled up inside, photon freedom flashlight

Also if I'm going to be outdoors at night a Fenix L2T flashlight on my belt.

I've tried carrying more, but it wasn't getting used and was getting in the way.
I'd carry a firearm if I could do it legally, but that's not an option where I live.
I thought about alternate means of making fire, but it doesn't get used enough to carry on me all the time.
I have occasionally carried a Boker RESCOM as well, but other than being a cool little knife I didn't really ever use it for anything.

What kind of things does everyone else here keep with them all the time?

We have a section for EDC. It can be found here. http://thesurvivalpodcast.com/forum/index.php?board=64.0

Lots of good stuff there.
