Mell was a 300 lb diabetic quadraplegic who had very little personal experience about any of his subjects. He relied upon input from guys at Pachmayr's and my old friend Mike Harries. None of those guys had much personal experience, either, other than competition. When it's for real, you'll have no choice but to make one rifle and one pistol do it all, cause you won't get to call "time out" and go get the "proper" gun for the job.  Also, you won't dare be without the needed 35 lbs of water, rations and  other survival gear,  4 lbs of concealed body armor.

So, before you start talking about  carrying  30 lbs of guns and ammo and accessories for same, how about you load up with all that 70, and see if you can hike  30 miles of brush, mud and hills in 2 days with it. Also, lets see you run with it, fast enough to not have some campfire Girls catch you.
