Just thought I would let anyone who might be wanting a Plate Carrier vest know that 5.11 has a black one on clearance for 17.99. I received mine in less than a week and the quality of appears to be outstanding. I have mine setup for going to the range. If anyone is interested I'll do a followup with pics.

I have lots of 5.11 clothes and wear 5.11 boots eveyday in very rough duty conditions and have been very happy with all of their products. They make very high quality products.

That's a great Plate Carrier/LBE Vest. Nut'in Fancy actually does a review on it. The 5.11 Large Plate Carrier is an excellent value for the money. I'd like to find one in Coyote Brown.

I have a 5 in 1 jacket that is awsome. I had a probem with a seam splitting in the washing machine. I contacted 5.11 and they replaced it immediately with ne hastle.

I just got my first 5.11 order on Friday. Lapolicegear was having a closeout sale on 5.11 tactical pants for 19.99. Apparently the colors weren't quite up to spec so they got them cheap. So far they look good to me. Can't wait to try a pair out at work tomorrow and see if anyone notices.

I recently purchased a pair of TacLite Pro + the knee pad inserts for a firearm training course. Excellent!

About the only thing from 5.11 that I've had continual success with has been their TDU pants. They work out great. I've gone through quite a bit of other 5.11 stuff and after a short time in the field the stitching usually starts to blow out somewhere. I've gone through gloves, pants, a jacket, and one polo. The desert boots I got were a total bust since after two weeks in Baghdad one of the plastic eyelets popped out and then after about a month the swede was stained from just normal wear. Lesson learned...I'll stay with North Face, Standard Issue, and Blackhawk. Might be a little more but as the old adage goes...you get what you pay for.

I have a 5.11 duty bag and it was not worth the $40 I paid for it. The quality is poor. Sort of soured me towards trying other 5.11 products.

I wear the cotton tactical pants, the station pants and the pro polo every day I'm at the station. They've held up great and I love the fit. +1 for 5.11.

Overall, 5.11 stuff is marginal. They do a good job marketing their wares, but (personal opinion) are a cheap offshore copy of decent gear.

Only thing Ive had decent luck with are the pants, just watch the sizes as they tend to run on the small side.

I had a pair of ATAC 8" boots for two years and they began to rip along one of the seams. I use them primarily for light duty at work since I am behind a desk most of the time. I called 5.11 and asked what I could do to fix them. She asked how I used them and a couple other questions and before I knew it she was sending me a brand new pair of boots. Do not know if this SOP but my experience with their products (polos, pants and boots) has always been great. Everything I have has lasted long past what I had expected. The only complaint I have is some of their products are made in China.

I love my 5.11 boots and need to score some pants now that I have seen all sorts of stuff spilled on them without incident and they don't fade like the ones I already have. Can anyone find them for less than $49?

Check LA Police Gear and get on the email list. They run specials from time to time and you can really score some deals.

My 5.11 pants are fabulous. Super durable. Great for shooting. Reinforced knees. Cargo pockets hold 2 AR mags.

Look good too.

I will be getting more 5.11 stuff.

I use a 5.11 Push Pack as an every day EDC bag. I have several 5.11 pouches, mag pouches etc. I'm planning on picking up my first pair of 5.11 pants at the first of the month. Luckily I My LGS is also a 5.11 outlet/Police Tactical Supply store.

Big +1 on high quality products.

I buy mine from LA Police Gear. I usually buy only when stuff is on sale or clearance. I can't afford the full-price.

I can't say anything bad about 5.11. I wear all varieties of their pants at work as a paramedic. In the rural area we live, it is sometimes very hard on clothing. They usually wear like steel, and are very comfortable.

Their customer service has been great as well. I called once about the lack of stitching on half of the knee on a pair of pants. They sent me a new pair the same week. They didn't even ask me to return the defective pair. Which my wife was able to stitch up, and I still wear.
