Violence erupts after officer-involved shooting

...City police officials said two officers stopped two suspects in a car about 3:30 p.m. The suspects then took off on foot. During the pursuit, a six-year veteran of the department shot and killed a 23-year-old Milwaukee resident, who was carrying a semiautomatic handgun, police said. ...

The shooting occurred about one block northwest of the scene of a Friday evening homicide, and about four blocks west of a Saturday morning double homicide. Five people died in shooting-related homicides during a nine-hour stretch in the city on Friday night and Saturday morning. ...

According to a list of BLM demands, these young black men committed no crime, even if they did.
One of the demands is the decriminalization of black youth.
Put another way, a young black person by the very nature of the demand cannot commit a crime.
So the police officer in question committed a crime by shooting an innocent black man.

There's a fair possibility of battling demonstrations in Portland Oregon today.

...On Sunday, four separate demonstrations – either simultaneously or within a few hours of each other – are planned within blocks near City Hall and adjacent parks.


    A pro-Trump free speech rally is expected to draw about 400 protesters Sunday, according to RSVPs on social media. The rally is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Terry Schrunk Plaza.

    More than 1,000 people indicated on Facebook they plan to attend a counter-protest to the Trump rally. It is organized by more than 30 immigrant rights, mental health and religious groups and is scheduled from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Portland City Hall.

    About 400 said they were going to another counter-protest organized by local anti-fascist groups, scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. at Chapman Square.

    About 70 said they were going to a gathering planned by labor groups also opposing the pro-Trump rally, scheduled from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Terry Schrunk Plaza. ...

This might be the only time you read this from me, but I truly believe that given the risks for violence here, both sides should legally have smoke a doobie or two before protesting.

Bad people doing bad things is pretty freaking normal in society, albeit unfortunate.  In this case a degenerate mouth breather started verbally abusing and threatening two young women in public.  A liberal, a conservative and a student of some stripe intervened and it turned into a fight that unfortunately resulted in the death of two of them.  But the point is that two sides of the debate came together to defend innocent citizens and unfortunately, gave the last full measure of devotion to a better society.  I take heart from that.  Underneath the sturm und drang, the society that we thought was pretty decent all things considered is still there. 

That extremists of multiple stripes are coming in ready to do violence for their particular pet issues is freaking disgusting.

The Portland protest yesterday? Out of thousands of protestors, local news said it was mostly peaceful, and that 14 people were arrested. No major injuries.

It was not a protest for the two men killed on the commuter train (which I am guessing was MAX), but a pro-trump and a free speech protest.other groups also showed up.Pro-Trump and anti-Trump demonstrators separated by caution tape.

The arrests were for Antifa people who were throwing bricks and stuff at Police. The regular protesters on both sides were peaceful.     

The Oregonian uploaded footage of police deploying flash-bangs and tear gas in order to disperse black-masked individuals protesting in a public park.

I have noticed this from previous "events" news; The Portland police seem to be under instructions to do their job, as they did this past weekend. Nothing like local here ( ie., Berkeley, San Francisco) who let violence happen. The Portland police kept the groups seperate, and they used minimal needed force ( flashbangs, tear gas) to disarm and disperse the AntiFa group who showed up to be violent.

A "March Against Sharia", organized by a group called ACT for America, is scheculed to occur mid-day Saturday June 10th in many cities.  The complete list of locations is on their website.  Here's a brief list of cities:

Security at the events will be assisted by volunteers from  Oath Keepers, Bikers for Trump, Two Million Bikers, American Civil Defense, various Three Percenter organizations, The Proud Boys, and other patriotic groups (according to this Oath Keepers post).

There is an obvious potential for confrontations and violence to occur at any of these events, so please be careful.

So far, it sounds like the anti-Sharia crowds have numbered around 20 to 100, the counter-protesters have been slightly more numerous, and confrontations have been limited to noise and some shoving matches.
