"Woody beds" started spring of 2012

I've learned allot about my first year gardening with these new woody / huglkulture beds. I did water more frequently then I expected I would have too, however it was extremely dry due to the drought that we had. Anyway, more pics to come from my fall gardening efforts!!

Well towards the end of August, i decided it was time to give spinach, beets, carrots and broccoli a try.




The carrots rant from my fall garden, the drought really took its toll on the unfortunately and they've become food for my rabbits...


Not huge yet, but they are coming!

My little daughter can't wait to help dad in the garden in just a few short years! Didn't grow the pumpkins but thought it was a great pic to finish the progress report on!

Well done.  I've been looking for creative ways to create a raised bed for my wife that is high enough for her to work without much bending.  She has bad knees and can't tend a ground level garden.  The one woody bed that is three boards high might be a good start and will allow me to kill two birds with one stone. 

Again, nice job!
