Jack's 22LR book
« on: September 16, 2013, 06:10:18 PM »
so this has been running through my head for a few weeks now.

How many people here would be willing to buy jacks 22LR book if they put Down 10.00 unhonorable Bernanke Bucks or some kind of silver ( I am thinking Paradimes). I would love to see this Ebook finally come out. I am thinkging a poll would be the best way to do this.

Who is Down?

I guess I have not been paying attention.  What is Jack's idea for a .22LR book?  about the firearms, the ammo, target shooting with it, hunting, or just about all aspects?

i believe it is supposed to be an all encompassing view of the 22lr rifle, shooting, hunting, etc. check this page out: http://www.masterrifleman.com/

it's been 'in the works' for years though. i just listened to an old episode in december 2009 where he mentioned that he was working on it.

I love my .22's, a .22 was my first rifle, but I don't get it.  Does everyone but my family and I have to shoot a bazilion times a year to be profiecient at shooting?  Does everyone think you have to hit a dime (at any distance) to be able to kill something effectively?. . .  I haven't shot even close to the amount of 'combined' calibers (including .22lr) in my entire life that I've heard many recommend for being proficient with a rifle.  And unless you're shooting sage rats at 100 yards, placing a shot from an effective caliber the size of a pie plate and in to the kill zone is going to take down everything from a goat to a moose.

I am in. I've been waiting for a long time. Completely went out of my head.
Along with the final Bucket video.

I think I still have the sample audio file when he was going to do the Audio book version of Lights Out with Halffast, but once it was going to be published that had to be shelved. Maybe it will finally be realized and an audio book will be released at some point.

I'm in for $10 as well, maybe a little more if need be. I eat up anything I can on .22s. I'm constantly bouncing between .22lr and 7.62x54r as my favorite round to shoot, partly because they're both cheap(er) but I think mostly because I'm strange.

It costs more than a $10 e-book, but if you really want to learn to shoot a .22 rifle, spend a weekend at an Appleseed shoot.  Best rifle training available for the money, and a ton of fun.

Jack has a lot of irons in the fire, so I wouldn't hold my breath on him finishing any of his in-the-works books anytime soon.  He's got tons of great ideas, but at times he seems to lack a little on the execution before he moves onto the next idea.

I wrote half the book on form and set up, never got the photos done for that and never wrote the second half.  I should and I know I should but right now at least we are up to our butts in tons of projects.  Tell you what get 100 people to post here asking and I will assign myself 1 hour a week until the project is done to work on it.  I really don't want to work on it right now but you guys are right I  should complete it, so make me do it.   :)

I'll throw in my +1 for the 100.

But I waited this long and can wait a little longer if need be.

Wasn't there an email list originally setup to be notified when it was finished, or was that for something else?
Been a while.

Don't forget, Jack posted some videos on shooting which didn't just pertain to 22s.

Well.......

Someone who can construct a sentence could help the guy out. Then sell it and/or put it up as a free download for paid members.

Just a thought.

I'd be up for the job. I've spent the last almost 10 years studying English in college. I'll admit I haven't graduated, but that through no fault of English department or my ability to master the language. I love to write and edit, and would proudly claim that I am good at it. Plus, I could use a project that engaged my brain more than odd jobs around the house and getting ready to put my garden to bed for the winter.
