This is me running the rapids on the Saint Croix river in Maine a couple of weeks ago. This is pretty much my favorite river in Maine .. a 2 day trip through the wilderness. This is the biggest rapid known as little falls. This side of the river is Maine, the other side is Canada

campsite on river .. no roads in to this site - river access only, but they have established camp sites ..

The Allagash is more well known, but all the trees in that area have been cut by the logging industry except to within a few hundred feet of the river and I just find that unappealing I guess. The Saint Croix is nothing like that

Awesome!

Looks like that is the way to do it!

Hey Andy, how's it going ? I remember you where the expert on those lightweight winter wood stoves ..

Anyway, yea this is my third trip on that river. My longest trip however was the Noir river in Quebec in 1999 .. 135 miles - 6 days. Canada has some great rivers. The Missinabi in Ontario goes for hundereds of miles into hudson bay. People who canoe that river bring guns to protect from polar bears.

I'm doing well, but I wouldn't go that far.  I have some experience, but I'm no expert....

A little late, but sweet video.  I can't wait to enjoy a little spring recreation here in Maine.
