Your favorite fishing knife

Made the mistake of buying a cheap fishing knife for trout, bass etc. at Big 5. What a joke. Is there a knife brand/ make that you carry and really like?

Cedar:
I love this knife for EVERYTHING from fish to hogs. I am sad BOTH of mine are packed away right now. I think mine were $11 each from eBay. I butchered 6 hogs and a few llamas and a few other things and have never had to sharpen them.

The best fishing knife is one you dont mind dropping overboard.

Opinel knives are great.

I had a spectacular fishing knife from Mora of Sweden. I think one of my fishing buddies swiped it because it was so good.  ;D

Smoky Hills:
I find for nearly any general cutting duties, I prefer something like a Mora knife. They lack a full tang, but work exceptionally well. My suggestion is to find a blade with carbon steel and either a Scandinavian or full grind as they are simpler to sharpen. You will also find various opinions on how how to sharpen the blades; some people like to make their blades sharp enough to shave hairs off of their arm. I prefer a coarser blade as I find it cuts better for general purpose, and tends not to be as easy to chip off. Your mileage may vary...
