Artistically it's a bit top heavy, but a cool start.
Reccommendations:
Kill the lacy outline as previously mentioned, but maybe beef up the antennae a tiny bit.
De-bold "THESURVIVALPODCAST.COM" maybe knock it down a point or two in font, or just lighten up the boldificationfulness.
Perhaps flip the shovels upside down, or extend the handles downward a bit
Add some kind of text or wreath or something to give the bottom of the coin some meat - that's the big problem since the edge of the coin and the field below the ant head kind of lead the eye downward, expecting something. The lightened text and emboldened antennae, combined with extended handles would give you something to look at as your eye moves downward across the coin. Hell, maybe invent a symbol regarding freedom and self-sufficiency using some wings and such with a globe or something inside. Perhaps a set of wings on a garden trowel?
Who knows, I just see a wreath or wings or something stretching out laterally along the bottom edge of the coin, something to add some texture and visual interest in an otherwise open field. Doesn't have to be jam packed, but at least visually balanced. Also, the obverse need not be symmetrical, just balanced, sho shuffling things around could go a long way to spreading out the visual texture if needed.
Otherwise, kick ass on the coin as a whole. No matter the material, I'll gladly plunk down my cash for a couple - I have a friend coming down a week and a half from now, and he's really looking forward to getting into prepping, so it'd be a perfect holiday gift for him.
Anyone thought that this might be a handy "hey, i'm one of you" identifier post-SHTF ina relatively widespread disaster? It seems that most of us kind of link up on a local level, but beyond that, if, say, we get organized and head to some place that got smacked by a hurricane or earthquake or wildfire, anyone in that area with a coin might be able to ID themselves as "one of the family" so to speak, while still preserving their opsec if required. Nothing quite like having to say "Hey, I'm a prepper" while standing in line for that one item you don't have (gas), among people who also need everything else you do have (food, water, shelter, solar panels).
Just a thought.
