I agree. This would limit you in a number of ways. The extra weight on your arms could create a significant problem alone. JMHO of course. I guess with some effort, you could train yourself to some modicum of competence. I don't know anybody who uses something like this though. I'm open minded enough to be willing to watch/listen to a demo on this.
There are shields used by various SWAT and CQB teams. They are somewhat different than this one and, in general, are operated by well trained physically fit men.
