Hello and Welcome BettieHousewife,

When it comes to preparedness, the best and most useful things I ever did was to set up an emergency fund, which would cover all my expenses for a 3 month period (its amazing how stress free this makes me feel), and put together a blackout kit (especially since we are now going into the winter months when we get most of our blackouts). We also "copy can" and since we cook a lot of indian food, we also store a lot of rice, onions, potatoes and spices. A deep freeze has also been one of my best investments.

Have fun listening to the podcast and I look forward to talking more

Cheers
Mark
It is amazing how, for all the neato preps I have gone in for over the years, the deep freeze, copy canning and rechargable AAs have been the most consistently useful preps we have done in my house.

Glad to see more folks from Oz coming up on the forum.

Welcome to the forum Bettiehousewife and Tractor.  There is a lot of great information in the forum buried away so keep digging.

Welcome Tractor, I hope you get a lot from this forum, as I hope to learn from you.

One question though, why does a Aussie freedom-seeking Christ-follower have a Che avatar?

Hey everyone, thanks for the welcome. To answer your question nkawtg: Che's philosophy (although he was a socialist) was actually very anarchistic; he was very much for individual freedom of the people and very against the American puppet governments of South America (like what we have here).
So what do you fellas get up to, if you don't mind me asking?

You forgot mass murderer.

Anyway, what do we get up to? Well aside from prepping projects, I'm a woodworking hobbyist and a wannabe gardener.

Mass murderer? I'll have to look into that. I know he didn't like gays but not a lot of people did back then. Thanks for pointing that out, I'll do a bit of research. Oh yeah cool, got much growing?

Hello fellow Aussies!  8)
Can see no one has posted anything new since Oct last year.
In any case, I'm Geoff from Sydney - just signed up yesterday after having listened (nearly) daily to TSP for 6 years and joined MSB in 2013.
Looking forward to sharing some discussions whenever anyone has the time. Cheers and have a happy Summer.

Thanks for the reply, Cylon.
I reckon I might be a little mad as I don't tend to think about stuff in the world the same way as I would have had I not met Jack Spirko and fed myself on a steady diet of TSP/Expert Council.

How did you find out about him and it?

Cheers, mate!
