Any must buy items for an American while in Cananda?
« on: August 03, 2016, 10:32:51 AM »
My kids have been wanting to take a day trip to Vancouver, BC for a while (we live outside Seattle, WA).

Mostly we'll do touristy stuff, shop, eat exotic food and see interesting things.  Aside from the usual Duty Free stuff, are there any lesser known "gems" that Americans like me should be sure to get?

I know there are some different potato chip flavors, but what might I find if I visited a Costco for example?
Maybe some household goods that are taxfree up north?
I considered RX drugs (my son is T1D insulin dependent), but unless the retail price in Canada is less than our co-pay, that doesn't seem worth the trouble.

Basically, is there anything cool or at significant discount I should take advantage of?

As of this posting, the exchange rate is $1USD to $1.31CAD

I remember tylenol with codeine.

Can you be more specific?
