Locker Hooking
(1/1)
Frugal Upstate:
For some reason I've gotten a bug to try locker hooking. Has anyone here done it? I'd love any info/tips.
Basically you use something that looks like a crochet hook with an eye on the end. You thread some yarn through the eye, then you put loops from a strip of fabric up through a rug canvas (one loop per opening). When you've got 5 or 6 loops on the hook, you pull the yarn through to "lock" the loops in place.
It seems like a great way to use up fabric scraps to make something useful (rugs, hot plates, cushions, art), and far quicker than braiding a rug or using latch hook (which I find fiddly and don't particularly like the look of anyway)
I'm thinking it might be a good thing to bring up to the lake this summer while we are on vacation--an alternative to my usual knitting.
