There is a pretty neat event coming up Sept 25-27 in Unity, Maine. This will be my 3rd year going. Its not at all a traditional 'fair.' It is three days of presentations, farmers markets, and various displays/demonstrations.
Last year Ben Faulk was the Keynote speaker. I went on 2 wild edible walks, watched directional tree felling, handling a team of horses, and blacksmithing demonstrations, listened to presentations on herbal remedies, raising heritage pigs, seed saving, and planting perennials. I also made fire using a bow-drill at the primitive skills tent.
This is really an awesome event and worth checking out.
