I attended an Infragard meeting ( this week, and the guest speaker discussed preparedness in Texas (specifically the south central area).

Some of the web sites that were addressed are: - this site includes a test to find your "readiness quotient".

Per the web site, HEB is selling Midland All-Hazards Emergency/NOAA Weather Alert Radio (Model WR-100 S.A.M.E.) "at a discount price" (whatever that means, but that's what's on the web site).

The web site has brochures to download, including a coloring book for kids.  I picked up a couple of the hard-copy brochures - it's interesting to note that the bulk of the document describes CBRN preparedness, but maybe 1/4th of a page for natural disasters.

The site has some upcoming training courses (free), including a Regional Agriculture Terrorism Conference, a Texas Homeland Security and Hurricane Conference, and the 2009 National Hurricane Conference.
