Went out on my birthday, had a great time.

(1/1)

Olympic Wanderer:
So, Today is my birthday and I never really do anything or want anything. Seriously. People ask me "What can I get you?" I tell them "nothing". Most folks don't even know its my birthday, ESPECIALLY the guys a work, they're relentless. Anyhow, as many of you know, I'm happiest when I'm out in the woods all by myself, so that's what I decided to give myself: A birthday alone.

I checked out the maps and decided on a trail that I have never been on in my life. Long story short, I planned on a 16 mile loop but settled for a 12 mile there-and-back. There was more people out and about than I have ever seen but regardless, it was wonderful. I even met a guy who is in the (sort of) same line of work as me. We chatted for about 1/2 an hour before he decided to take a break and let me cruise on down the trail: He had about 45lbs on him. I had less than 15.

Anyhow, check it out if you'd be so kind: http://picasaweb.google.com/olympic.wanderer/BoulderLake

I normally like to tweet (http://twitter.com/OlympicWanderer) with pics and updates along the way, but there was zero cell signal the entire way. It's a blessing and a curse. About a mile down the road from that particular trailhead is full signal. Oh Well.

LvsChant:
Happy Birthday, Fugg! Hope it was a great one... many happy returns.
