base station reception in house

Do I need some kind of special antenna to pick up reception in the middle of my house with the Dakota base station?  Any tips on this would be appreciated.

Unless your home is has aluminum siding or is steel reinforced (large amounts of metal will block radio signals) you normally won't have any significant reception issues in the middle of the home unless the signal you are trying to receive is very weak. If your radio is placed near other electronic devices (computers, Internet routers, etc.) you can sometimes get interference from those devices. Increasing the distance between them often helps.
