These hand helds can receive the alert messages from both the MAT and MAPS sensors in addition to numerous other features. All you would need to do is to program the correct frequency and CTCSS tone (called "sub-channel" in the sensor manuals) and your would be able to hear the voice alerts from the sensors.

They don't support 2 tone selcall but they do have a call button that allows you to set off an alarm on another PX-777 radio.

OK Rob, thanks.  I was wondering as I'd downloaded the programming software and it gave me some options such as "PX777/328 CH128 +2TONE" but I hadn't read that as a specification on any of the sites I'd checked that were selling them.  The software reminds me a lot of the software from Kenwood for programming the TK-2170s we have here.

There is an Asian model of this radio that does have that capability. No idea why it wasn't included in the US version.

The Kenwood similarities don't end there. The PX-777 PLUS can use the same accessories - programming cable, speaker mics, etc. - as the Kenwood TK-series radios with the two pronged plug like the TK-2170.

I have a shipment enroute from the manufacturer and hope to see them by the end of the month. Sales have been very high lately and they are hard to keep in stock.

For those who are interested in a story, these were held up for US Customs inspection prior to the Japanese Earthquake. They were held on a simple paperwork confirmation to make sure they were FCC certified. They were certified so I submitted the proper FCC ID documentation for their confirmation and they were released but later detained again a day later for unknown reasons. They continued to be delayed over a month due to the extra work radiation scanning all the Japanese products that were arriving. FedEx told me that due to all the extra screening going on at entry points most import shipments were delayed by many weeks.
