Title: XM 17 Pistol Trials Sig 320 Stands to replace Beretta M9

Can't believe No One has started this thread yet.

So big News in the Handgunnng world!

The Sig 320 got chosen to replace the Beretta M9

From what t I understand it beat out Glock 17 / 19
Smith M&P and I believe the FN FNS series though I don't know that for sure.

I would love to hear your thoughts.???

I have actually owned several or both the Beretta and Sig 320

I have my thoughts but I'll hold them for later

Has anyone else shot or owned both ?

It represents the military moving back to a single action pistol with a manual safety.  Will probably work out fine.

Didnt know they added an external safety to the P320. Wonder why.  Since the Walther P99 gained popularity within NATO their has been movement away from manual safeties, including glock style trigger safe actions.

Saw an article that final cost to government delivered will be $200 per firearm. What a deal.
