The decade + attempt by the government to stockpile ventilators

Sorry if you have already hit your NYT limit.  An interesting look into the government's attempt to buy low cost ventilators through bulk ordering.  The bureaucratic foul ups included corporate as well as governmental roadblocks.  It looks like after more than a decade of effort, we were 18 months from having them delivered, yet too late.
