Electric scooters are serious transportation

Our friend in Tampa just purchased a scooter, which I thought was a ridiculous idea, until I looked into it. I might have to get a couple.
This video, like most YouTube videos on scooters is more or less a commercial, but gives a good idea of the capabilities in scooters now days.

I picked up a Glion Dolly off their website as a refurb.  It folds/rolls and fits well in my BOV.

Super useful in urban areas.  I use it to explore new cities (pre-Covid), and to get around Nuevo Laredo from Laredo and C. Juarez from El Paso.

I'd encourage the curious to rent one first from Bird or wherever to see if you like it first.

Stiff competition from small gas motor cycles:

Why not get a good Ebike instead. Battery dies you can still petal the thing

Good point. The reason to choose an electric scooter over an E-bike is cost and portability. You can carry it inside while you shop, a plus in high-crime areas. A scooter is a better choice for those who use it for specific errands within it's mileage limits.
I still prefer a bicycle.
