Rabies warning for LYNNFIELD, Mass

Lynnfield woman approached by rabid coyote in her driveway

Officials said the animal tested positive for rabies and had also been seen in Lynn between Christmas and Dec. 27 in the area of Emerald Drive and Meghans Way.

There is concern the coyote may have spread the disease to other wild animals in the area.

Seems a bit unusual.  I thought that rabies was a Summer sort of thing.  Yes, I know it can be any time, but usually in warmer weather.
