Title: Ridgecrest, CA Earthquakes

First one hit yesterday and was measured at 6.4.  I'm over a hundred miles away and it got my attention.

They just had three more a couple minutes apart, one of which was 6.9 7.1.  Pool water is still sloshing.  Can't imagine what that feels like at the epicenter.

Yes. Watched the coverage on cnn last night. Was amazed they were covering that instead of their usual.

Nearby Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake announced they're not mission capable until further notice, and all non-essential personnel were ordered to evacuate last night.

I have family in Ridgecrest. So far they have come thru OK, only damage is from things falling off shelves, etc.

I wouldn't think that base should announce they are not operational.......

True to form, the local news tonight shows Californians cleaning out the stores of water and emergency supplies.   ::)

They might as well. Half the town or more works there. Not like they can keep it secret. And the map makes it obvious most of the quakes are on-base.
