Step one, make sure insurance (take your pick) is paid up.
Step two gather ingredients....

Step 3: remember the rule of 50...every 50 mg = 1 finger than can be blown off.

Just because you CAN legally do it doesn't mean it's a good idea.

To this day one of the reasons black powder is difficult to find in many areas is the frequency and ease of the production facilities to blow themselves up!

I flirted with keeping the "makings" for my own black powder a while back, then realized, if I can store the makings why not just store more powder and eliminate the danger of production?

And if I can store more BP why not just store more smokeless, which is safer and gives better performance and more loads per pound?

Since I keep a good supply of "regular ammo" my BP use is entirely recreational, so a huge supply, at least not more than the legal limit, is not necessary.
