It is easy to get sidetracked by all of the information.  Pick one thing you want to accomplish or do better.  If it seems to big then break it down into smaller tasks.  Celebrate the little achievements.  Try to learn something new everyday.  Try to practice a skill every day.

This forum is a great community of people with a vast set of skills and abilities.  I am grateful to the person who introduce me and  grateful to all of the people I get to learn from every time I am here.

If anyone in Northern Virginia is interested in meeting up, let me know. There are several budding "Meet up" groups but their activity is sporadic.  Would like to meet, exchange thoughts and share advice.

@WB132,

I too am in NOVA and would support a meetup.  Perhaps it might be beneficial to be more specific on what sort of meetup you're aiming for, such as meeting up for a meal/fellowship, taking a class as a group, doing an activity, etc.

I for example would definitely show up to any meetup to shoot at a local gun range or someone's private property that's near by.  I'm a huge fan of shotgun sports and go shoot trap nearly every weekend that the weather is nice over at the Bull Run Public Shooting Center and anyone is welcome to join me anytime I go.

There are two NOVA prepper meet up groups.   They're primarily focused on training classes but I think the MD guys are organized.

I'm up in NOVA, Springfield, and would be interested in getting together to talk/shoot. I'm about to become a member of IWLA, but I haven't made a membership meeting or my training volunteer time.

Welcome Diletpoly, there are several of us up in NOVA.  A few of us got together back in late February, but there are no current meet up plans.  If you like to shoot you're welcome to join me at the Bull Run shooting center if you enjoy shooting trap.  I go nearly every weekend.

I have ccw, I don't want  the attention.

I agree with Hellboy.  I've got a buddy who's local law enforcement, He says they get calls all the time about people doing open carry.  They are required to respond even though it's legal.  Most of the time it's just some guy who's been hunting and hasn't removed his side arm before going into Lowe's or the gas station.  They have to show up and talk to the guy for a second then go fill out a report.  Drives him wild, but it's part of the job to hold the publics hand.

I'm in the Tidewater, Hampton Roads area... to answer the OPr's question from 2008, lol
As far as open carry, I do every once n awhile more as an exercising of my right to do so.
I carry concealed 4 out of 5 times though. Tough with a Glock 23 but I make it work ;)

I'm currently in Stafford, though we have 10 acres in Spotsy we may or may not build on.  Would definitely be down to meet/hang out/ drink beers with any of you local folks.
