I was just getting one of my Garands ready for the next range trip and admiring the pure classic utility and beauty of a WWII weapon.
Anyway, you got me thinking about a Ruger Carbine now. Sounds useful and fun.

Yes,the BAR does set the bar a little high even with the M14's and M1's in the rack next to them . I wonder how many 'plastic' guns will become CLASSICS?

I have been thoroughly impressed with mine, traded in my Kel-Tec Sub2K.
I immediately installed the Glock magazine adapter, and I have found that the Magpul 21 round Glock-pattern mags are the perfect length for this, added capacity but not terribly long hanging out the bottom of the carbine. I've been carrying it as a pack gun on a regular basis in a standard pack, but have been considering one of the Copper Basin Takedown Packs, for a more minimal "less tactical" look.
Perfectly acceptable accuracy at the distances I have used it at, and no hiccups other than with some cheap Tula 9mm that I ran through it, and I don't make that a habit of using.
Lots of new accessories hitting the market for it too, stocks, trigger groups, etc.
Mr. Bill:
:excited: OMG it's Patriot! Hello!

I thought I'd stick my head in the door, see how the old crew were doing.
