My theme song for today

(1/12) > >>

rikkrack:
OK, so maybe it is my older age (although I grew up with this song, so not that old), the fact I am just fed up with what the government (notice I didn't say my government because I cannot support 99% of what they are up to, and didn't vote for any of them, I did vote), or the fact that Jack has woken me from my slumber I was in. I was a walking zombie feeling like a helpless lemming. I am fed up and the song below gets me a little jazzed. I feel we are on the edge of many people waking up and essentially not taking what the clowns in Washington are dishing out. I have become more outspoken, challenge and question what the “come and make you sad.gov people” spit out. I do my best to wake them up as well and everything I can at the moment to not support their continuance of the come and make you sad movement. We have seen when we as a group in the US focus our energy (the permanent postponement of the Outdoor Sporting Show). Today we need to band together and stop letting the media and the clowns separate us. We need to unite and take the power from them. By voting, by our wallets, by waking up and educating both ourselves and others. By drawing a line in the sand and say I have had enough. Yes, put me on another one of "those" lists/databases.

Anybody else feel that way or have a theme song.

There is always the patriotic, but lately I am with the line in the sand feel. When I stop feeling oppressed, I may get a little more patriotic.

Songwriters: SNIDER, DANIEL DEE

We're not gonna take it
No, we ain't gonna take it
We're not gonna take it anymore

We've got the right to choose and
There ain't no way we'll lose it
This is our life, this is our song
We'll fight a 1000 legions
Don't pick our destiny 'cause
You don't know us, you don't belong

We're not gonna take it
No, we ain't gonna take it
We're not gonna take it anymore

Oh you're so condescending
Your goal is never ending
We don't want nothing', not a thing from you
Your life is trite and jaded
Boring and confiscated
If that's your best, your best won't do

Whoa...
Whoa...
We're right/yeah
We're free/yeah
We'll fight/yeah
You'll see/yeah

Oh we're not gonna take it
No, we ain't gonna take it
Oh we're not gonna take it anymore

Oh we're not gonna take it
No, we ain't gonna take it
Oh we're not gonna take it anymore
No way!

Whoa...
Whoa...
We're right/yeah
We're free/yeah
We'll fight/yeah
You'll see/yeah

We're not gonna take it
No, we ain't gonna take it
We're not gonna take it anymore

We're not gonna take it, no!
No, we ain't gonna take it
We're not gonna take it anymore

Just you try and make us
We're not gonna take it
Come on
No, we ain't gonna take it
You're all worthless and weak
We're not gonna take it anymore
Now drop and give me twenty
We're not gonna take it
A Pledge pin
No, we ain't gonna take it
On your uniform
We're not gonna take it anymore

Gonna have that song stuck in my head the rest of the day now and I did not even see the vid yet. LOL

rikkrack:
yeah been in mine for about 2 weeks now. I hear it when most politicians speak now.

Oil Lady:
Great idea for a thread. Music is so important to human existence. The idea of a "theme song of the day" for each individual person in the world is perhaps one of the most unspoken of all universal truths.

Here are a few I have been able to lay hold of during my more upbeat moments in life:

1) Break My Stride    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oj8s1u61AM

2) Maikin' It     http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F47AfASOnA8

3) You Can Get It If You Really Want      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18EAqHx2lMk

Oil Lady:
I totally love the music found in this video game. The game is called "New Splitter Pals," (a sequel to the original "Splitter Pals" game, which I confess I never saw before).  The object of the game is to slice or split the wooden structures in such a way as to allow the little tangerine-looking guy to roll into/fall into/catapult into the mouth of the floating-yellow-head guy (I know, kinda twisted sounding).

Anyway. I love love love the music (not the "Main Menu" music, but rather the actual game-play music found after the Main Menu). I will turn on the game and just let the music play in the background while I am doing housework. I can listen to it for hours.
