Anybody Near Asheville?

My wife and I would like to relocate to eastern TN or western NC and will be visiting the Asheville region from March 8-13.  Is anybody in that area and might you be willing to connect?  It'd be great to meet any like-minded people in the area to help us size up the region and make some inroads before possibly taking the plunge!

We are also considering moving to Asheville area or Eastern TN, from Oregon, in 3 to 5 years and are taking our first trip out there, this year.  I would like to know the same thing.  Oregon's attempt to pass gun control on the ballot this year was our final straw, along with Portland going nuts.  I hear Asheville might be more of the same though ;(

What did you think of the area? 

I just bought a place last Monday about an hour from Ashville. I ended up there as that is the closest Sams club for me now.
