Hey all! I am new to the forums. I have been listening to TSP for about 60-80 episodes. I am in the Salina, KS area. Glad to see a few other Kansans here. Good to know there are other like minded people in the area in case times get tough...or even if they don't.

Any of you growing much for gardens? What works best for you? I am originally from NE and still trying to get KS weather down.

Being a Kansan that went to Nebraska, it isnt too much different. I seem to have a slightly shorter season up here, (slightly).
Be ready for hot and dry and humid all at the same time while you are down there.
Tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers always grew good for me. Plums do well down there too.

Thanks guys! I am trying lots of different things. Everthing from peppers and tomatoes to sunflowers, juersalem artichokes and peanuts.

Near Mulvane here. Will work for heirloom seed and rusty 3pt equipment! Are there any HAM operators in KS on here? I have to say I am looking into it although I haven't done anything yet.

Hey Kansas TSP'rs

Do you think we should start a Kansas, or Wichita Yahoo Groups.com or MeetUp.com group? There is a Homesteaders and Gardener Meet-Up group in Wichita founded by a great lady named Stephanie, but I find it's members to be more of the "flower-power" type.

I'm near Mulvane and think it would be great to start cooperating and meeting to build projects.
