Our fire house has a Schlage FE595 keypad lever lock.  I'd consider one for my house.  Its pretty stout, is backlit, programmable for temporary codes, etc.  EMP? If that knocks out my door lock, I'm still getting in, and the lock is the last thing on my list of concerns.  Anyhow, there is an actual key that comes with the keypad lock in case of electronic failure.
