Driving Like Crazy
« on: June 10, 2009, 11:47:36 AM »
Libertarian and New Hampshire resident PJ O'Rourke talks about the US Automotive industry.  Entertaining and informative, if not particularly survival oriented.  The first five minutes are a slow introduction, but the rest of the piece is both entertaining and informative.  It's also down-loadable so that you can listen to it in your car.

"Starting with his childhood as the grandson of an Ohio Buick dealer, O'Rourke details some of his earliest adventures as an automotive writer, on assignment for Car and Driver, Rolling Stone, Forbes, Esquire, among others. What emerges is a love letter to the glory days of the American automobile, from the perspective of a 60-something who has been driving like crazy for a lifetime."

PJ O'Rourke ROCKS!
He's one of my favorite living humorists/authors
I tried to watch this live but Cato doesn't always update their site like they should.

I subscribe to the CATO daily podcasts and they clue me into the longer pieces.  Listening to this one reminded me of my first car, a '56 Chevy.
