Ontario sp52 and 53????
Anyone a fan of these two blades?!?!?!
Thank you,
Scot
Scottman:
I'm taking the 52 out for a work blade today. Last night an impromptu old style workout and a quick chopping session. Seems to glance off wood pretty easily. Not sure on the edge angle.
Badhog:
I like the 50 because it has a straighter edge.

I find BOTH a little large for a knife and they are lacking as machete's I use a big knife, but the more manageable Schrade SCHF9N is
more to my liking and a 14 to 16 inch blade machete and a small hatchet with a smaller MORA and a folder or two to round out
the edged tools. Hand pruning shears are also a useful woods tool. I don't argue your choices,I just present mine.

I have the SP52 and love it ! Spring steel (carbon), holds a good edge, and feels good in my hand. I did modify mine some by removing the top finger guard and stripped the black coating off and then did a mustard patina on the blade, then thinned the edge some and polished it and now its hair popping sharp. I also squared the spine for use with a Ferro rod, and I thinks its an overall good blade !
