The "writing was on the wall" for solar becoming mainstream in Oz when the Federal and various state governments began to reduce very favourable incentives to install solar systems on homes and feed back into the grid.
Whilst big projects are only commencing now, the take up of domestic solar is pretty high but has some way to go still. On a positive note the reduction in subsidized residential solar by the government as resulted in the average price of solar systems dropping dramatically. It also have traditional power suppliers scrambling to maintain relevance.
Once the Tesla PowerWall and similar systems have been bedded in, I'll be making the switch for sure.
A "bright" future awaits......
