Fava bean recipe
Carver:
I've been going through our dried bean vault and have a quart of large fava beans. I've never made anything with them that doesn't remind me of eating a leather belt and I can't find any decent ideas here or on an internet search. My plan is to pressure cook the daylights out of them and go from there. Maybe I should try sprouting them first, dry and grind...
Anybody made something with dried fava beans that is edible?
mountainmoma:
Hummus
Chemsoldier:
Anthony Hopkins ruined fava beans...
Greekman:
you can make a salad with them, like we do over here in Greece..something like humus I guessed.
cook till, soft, mash, add REAL olive oil and sliced/diced onions.
But you got to have some kind of raki or red wine to go with them.
want me find a good local recipe?

I'd be interested in that Greekman. I can sometimes get Fava beans at local Middle Eastern grocery store.
