If you want to stay below 1000 fps try a heaver pellet. Most off the air rifles that advertise over 1000 fps are using alloy pellets, not lead.

The fury II is advertised at 1200 fps and I'm sure it's with an alloy or one of those plastic skirted rounds.  But MAN you should see that thing splatter a lead mushroom against a hard surface.  Plus it completely buries lead rounds into a 2x6 and you have to wonder how far in it's going.  Don't want to boast about it - It is a cheap gun but it's fun to shoot.
