How To Post A Photo To The Forum

<< < (7/8) > >>

dbs:
Thanks Sister Wolf for your video showing us how to post a picture on the forum.

jamendjr:
For the photobucket users, is there a way to simply post the image to the thread without linking back to the photobucket account? I would prefer the images to be static and not allow linking back to the account to view all the folders. I know I can lock folders as private, I only have garden photos in there actually but I noticed that my photos are all acting as photos and links. Any help with disabling the link back to the account?

Nicodemus:
I'm not too familiar with Photobucket, but with Flickr you can edit the BBCode so that it will only show the image, so there might be a way to do it.

jamendjr:
I will check into it, thanks.

Yes, I do this all the time.   It seems you are just grabbing the URL from your address line in your browser....notice the link ends with "html".....

--- Code: ---http://s1048.photobucket.com/user/suburbangardenMD/media/TSP%20garden%202014/IMAG2432.jpg.html

--- End code ---

Now to get the image jpeg itself, it will depend on your browser.   If you are using Internet Explorer, a "right click" isn't much help, you'll have to click the little magnifying glass icon, which will bring up the picture in a new window, after which you can right click on it, go to "Properties" and just get the URL image as so...

--- Code: ---http://i1048.photobucket.com/albums/s367/suburbangardenMD/TSP%20garden%202014/IMAG2432.jpg

--- End code ---

Chrome makes it easier, simply "right click" again and select "Copy image URL".

Mozilla is similar, you  simply "right click" again and select "Copy Image Location".

When you are ready to paste into a thread use the image tag (looks like a Mona Lisa icon) and paste in the URL that ends with "jpg".  Notice I add the "height" option to tame down the size.   Now it shouldn't link back.

--- Code: ---[img height=100]
http://i1048.photobucket.com/albums/s367/suburbangardenMD/TSP%20garden%202014/IMAG2432.jpg
[/img]

--- End code ---
