You should look into hammock camping. Very good for the back. The trick is to lie diagonally, then you lie almost flat and can also lay on your side.

The BOW website looks interesting.  I plan to keep checking it to see if there are any workshops in my area in the future.

If you cannot make it to a BOW event check your state's Department of Conservation or Fish & Game. Often they will offer various outdoor skills and firearms courses. Women more often than not will get to attend free of charge or at greatly reduced rated. Some courses are also designed "for women only".  :)

I am definitely going to keep an eye out for workshops in my area (Middle TN) .... I have really been wanting to do something like this.  :D

I just signed up to take a BOW multi course workshop in October.  I am beyond excited.  I have been wanting to learn to shoot, and this will provide that opportunity.  I think I will also do Archery, fly fishing and kayaking.

I have registered for my workshops for the October Becoming an Outdoors Woman weekend.  I am in Intro to Firearms, Beginning Shotgun, Archery and Bow Hunting.  I'm looking forward to learning some new skills in a beautiful setting with like-minded people.
