I recently endorsed the product and have begun teaching womens self defense seminars promoting it because you can purchase inert "practice" canisters for it and actually run through some application practice.

Most pepper spray users have never "practiced" with their weapon for fear of actually spraying someone. This system allows you to really get the physical movements of aiming and firing the weapon into muscle memory without hurting your training partners.

In any case, I just received it and I'm really impressed with the design and quality.  I bought it because through another thread, I started to think about the dilema of what to do when you have one hand holding your flashlight, one hand holding your handgun, but you realize that the situation demands a less than lethal response.  This tool offers the perfect answer.  With the flick of the wrist and a press of the thumb, you have a less than lethal option without ever taking your gun off the subject.

Really is a quality design and it's rare to find a product that looks as robust as the T-100.  I was expecting all plastic, not steel.  The multiple lighting options make this light the perfect solution for just needing to find your way along the sidewalk vs. positively identify a subject at 25'.

It's a fantastic design, fastest response time and the ability to load inert cannisters for practice makes it in my opinion the best less than lethal option available.

I've always appreciated the utility and effectiveness of pepper spray.  Back in my deputy days, I literally wrote the policy on the stuff for our department and used it on two occasions with surprising effectiveness (total for four subjects in two uses, both were drunken fighters and I was all alone with no other way to stop them and affect an arrest).  The fact that it took the fight right out of them despite raging adreneline and BACs over .15% sold me on the stuff.

Have you had one apart yet?  I was just curious what the odds are I could upgrade the K2 to a Cree XR-E LED and get another 150 lumens without any greater power draw.  I know, I know, if it ain't broke don't fix it, but it's in my DNA I tell you...

I have only had one apart to replace the batteries. Did you buy the t100 or the law enforcement version?

The T-100.  I wanted something that would easily fit in a jacket pocket.  I'm just a LED geek and if it's not brighter than the sun I try to make it that way.  There's nothing wrong with the output and it's completely up to the task at hand, but if I can't drive my car by it, it ain't bright enough.    It's essentially replacing my 900 lumen flashlight that I use on my afterwork walks and runs, so I'm used to having cars flash their highbeams to get me to dim. 

Some folks feed their egos by driving the fanciest car, others by owning the biggest guns; my weakness is the brightest lights.

I am considering this for my wife and myself, but we have small children and my wife will probable leave it in her purse. Are there any safeguards on this unit?

It has a spring-loaded flap over the pepper spray trigger, but it's not like a childproof safety.  It will prevent an accidental discharge while rummaging through a purse, but it's not going to stop a curious kid from giving it a shot.  Like firearms training for kids, you need to teach them to respect it, not fear it.

The T-100 is a piece of crap. I own 2 and would never buy one again. both of the ones I was sent have major issues with the way they were assembled/ fit together..Its also a poor design to use under stress. They are not well made, too much plastic in high stress areas..changing the battery is a joke and the battery cover design is just stupid (one of mine was broken from the factory and shipped that way). I had planned on giving them as gifts but after receiving them/ checking them out, they now sit in the closet.

The Tigerlight flashlights however are very good. I own 2 of them. I have used them in training and on the street in "real life". Everyone I've ever sprayed with my Tiger light went down like a brick.  The down side is they are not cheap and the high intensity bulbs dont last.

if you get one, get the Sabre Red pepper spray canister, it works the best.


I would recommend the flashlights to anyone...but the T-100 no way

I agree that the law enforcement version is more heavy duty, but its a little bulky for the average person. I own both.

BTW if you have a problem with a tigerlight product, they stand by there stuff call Michael and he will take care of any problems you might have. He recently gave a $100 upgrade to a law enforcement client of mine for free just to keep him happy!
