Gentryville family honored for over 100 years of farming

It has been a honeymoon cottage where couples got "chivalried," -- in which neighbors banged and hollered at the doors during a newlywed couple's first night together -- it has folklore of Johnny Appleseed planting trees there, traveling horses drank from their well water -- which was considered the best in the land -- during droughts and now, the Lamar family of Gentryville is one out of 55 Indiana farming families to win the Hoosier Homestead Centennial Award this year, which recognizes those who have kept their farm in the same family for more than 100 consecutive years....
